SHOOT. WRITE. SHARE.

In this student-directed multimedia writing program, there is no set curriculum in terms of writing topics. The student decides what to write about based on their passions, curiosities, experiences, and interests. A lot of the pain involved in the writing process is extracted when the student is personally interested in the topic, and in our experience, kids love being in the driver's seat. 99% of the time, they're being told what to write about, so this program makes writing feel like a completely new experience.

We teach students how to brainstorm, outline, draft, edit and finalize their writing, and when we are finished, we post each piece on their own personal blog. Students pair their writing with photos, videos or music as they wish, and friends and family can subscribe to receive an update every week and leave comments on their posts, so that the student can experience what it's like to generate a conversation around their work. That only inspires them to write more! :)
